Rules and Regulations
Dear Participants,
I am writing to inform you about some specific rules and regulations which will govern the conduct of our upcoming mastercourse with Maestro Gennady Rozhdestvensky in Moscow.
It is very important that everyone realize that while we at the Philharmonisches Kammerorchester Berlin have attempted to regularize the format of every mastercourse in order to optimize each student´s learning experience, there are several distinctive elements to each source which create and ultimately allow for varied experiences and different learning evironments. One of these elements we naturally cannot regulate is the teaching style and concepts of each master teacher that we engage to lead each and every course. Each teacher that we work with has a particular way of teaching based on years of unique conducting and teaching experiences, oftentimes with the best orchestras and best schools of music in the world.
To this end, we would like to communicate to you that for the Moscow masterclass with Maestro Rozhdestvensky, we will be operating under a specific format in which Maestro Rozhdestvensky will be making decisions that will directly affect your continued participation in the course as it progresses. Based on his thoughts of where each participant is as a musician and conductor, and on his opinion of whether or not he can work and help each person, he will be making periodic determinations about who will be allowed to continue on as an active participant.
While we understand and realize that this fact might mean that several full-paying participants may not be allowed to conduct for their full 100 minutes, we have to allow Maestro Rozhdestvensky to teach and work with people in the way that he is best accustomed. Given this, if anyone finds themselves as one who has not been selected by Maestro Rozhdestvensky to continue on as an active participant, we at the Philharmonisches Kammerorchester Berlin will provide you with several options:
1) continuing on in the mastercourse as a passive participant with a partial refund based on the remaining balance of minutes,
or
2) future active participation in a different mastercourse with a different master teacher based on the paid balance of minutes left availabele at the time of Maestro Rozhdestvensky´s decision.
Of course, while the decisions of Maestro Rozhdestvensky will be considered final, we at the Philharmonisches Kammerorchester Berlin will always endeavor to provide the most positive and musically-enriched environment possible to all of our participants.
We thank you very kindly for your understanding of this, and very much look forward to meeting and working with all of you in Moscow. Of course, please fell free to contact us at any time should you have any additional questions or concerns regarding this or any orher issue.
Warmest Regards,
