ADVENTSKONZERT

From 2013-12-22 2013-12-22 To 2013-12-22 5:00 pm

Advent Concert with Trumpet or »Carnival in Venice« Carnival in Venice« "Carnival in Venice" is not only the theme of the evening, but also a solo work. Jean-Baptiste Arban wrote this wonderful piece of music, which is a challenge for any trumpet player. Almost every child could the melody allude on the piano, as the text is well-known as a children's song, "A Pug came into the kitchen ...“ It is based on a Neapolitan Canzonetta and many composers have already dealt with it. Beside Arban also Paganini and Chopin. Let's stay in Italy. Ponchielli’s Fantasia is based on Verdi’s opera "La Traviata". The composition is one of the hugest and most important works of trumpet literature. The high notes, fast passages and brilliant ornamentations require a great technique that our soloist Giuliano Sommerhalter certainly has. Haydn also took a great liking to the trumpet. His concert was something like the Premiere of the pioneering "re-invention" of the trumpet of Anton Weidinger. Haydn's concerto includes melodies in the lower register, exploiting the capabilities of the new instrument. Haydn elevates the Trumpet by writing trills and chromatics with elegance and lyricism. So that the orchestra can also prove its skills, we selected two works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The Overture from "The Marriage of Figaro" and the Linz Symphony. Another young soloist, Romaine Bolinger, will also present two wonderful solo works. The Swiss violinist has also played during the last year with our orchestra in Berlin. This time is devoted to Tchaikovsky's "Souvenir d'un lieu cher," in addition to the first movement of Meditation in D minor. So remains the violin meditative this evening. Only this time a work is the opera "Thais" by Jules Massenet. The night concludes one more opera work, "Thais" by Jules Massenet. A wonderful program with two outstanding soloists and a professional chamber orchestra. Under the conduction of Michael Zukernik we look forward to starting a small tour with the Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra from Hungary.
